Büyükekşi: The calls made are not answered by us

TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi, who participated in the August training seminar of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Central Referee Board (MHK), said that the appointments of referees are made with an algorithmic system and that the expectations of some club presidents about the appointment of referees will not find a response to them.

Büyükekşi, who spoke in the open section of the seminar held in Riva Hasan Doğan National Teams and Camp Facilities, slapped his hand on the podium and expressed that they wanted this issue to be known to the public as absolutely true.

Referring to the system in the appointment of referees, Büyükekşi said, “We do not have a response to the calls made like “No, we want this referee, we do not want this referee. There is no such system. Our system does not allow this. We need as much data as possible for this system to work fully and at the desired level.” “As more matches are played, we will have more data. We are still in the second week of the league. I request you to give some time to this beautiful system. We are taking very important steps for the future of football. We need everyone’s support.” said.

Emphasizing that they continue personality development programs for referees and that they have started new studies to expand the Super League referee pools, Büyükekşi said, “While carrying out these studies for a football where the game is spoken, not the referees, all presidents, managers, coaches and football players have an understanding and a better language in their statements about the referees. And we ask for patience. Because if we join hands, we will experience a much better football atmosphere together.” made its assessment.

Advisor to Hugh Dallas

Büyükekşi stated that they are proud to be the consultants of the experienced referee Hugh Dallas, who has an important place in the global football world, and that they have made efforts to improve the referees in order to raise the brand value of the Super League and to create an atmosphere of football watched with pleasure, and they continue to do so. .

Explaining that their aim is to establish a system that will gain the trust of football fans, that will work properly and that even those who object to it will trust, Büyükekşi said, “We have rolled up our sleeves to create this with both our own efforts and the contributions of our stakeholders. It will be better from today to tomorrow. This is a process and the patience of all of you is needed. “A lot of things that are the subject of discussion can be measured today. Everything will be very clear, understandable and transparent. Thus, we will achieve an environment where the beauties of football are talked about much more, and referee mistakes are much less talked about.” he said.

Explaining that they have further strengthened the technical possibilities of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), which is one of the most important criticism points, and that the field and VAR referees are separated from each other, Büyükekşi said the following about the referee appointments:

“We have minimized the referee and VAR communication and made it benefit-oriented. This is the maximum benefit design. The fact that this structure works with high efficiency in 2 weeks is the best proof that we are on the right track. On the other hand, we took the referee assignment out of the personal and implemented the digital assignment. All our referee assignments, computer Referee appointments are made by the digital system according to algorithmic values, not by the initiative of the people in our federation or MHK.” he said.

Referee performances will be evaluated every Tuesday evening at the broadcaster.

Pointing out that the league’s brand value and game quality should increase, Büyükekşi said, “I think all our stakeholders agree that such rapid, concrete and important steps were not taken in the previous periods. We set out together. We succeeded together, and we will succeed together in the future.” used the phrases.

Regarding their new practices, Büyükekşi said, “From the fourth week of the league, MHK Deputy Chairman Murat Ilgaz and Hugh Dallas will evaluate the referee performances of the relevant week, accompanied by images, at a time to be determined by the broadcaster every Tuesday evening.” gave the information.

Addressing the referees who listened to him in the hall, Büyükekşi said, “We trust you, you also trust us. We will give all the support we can to the referees. Your performances are very important to us. Hopefully, at the end of the league, we will provide all kinds of training programs, we will do all kinds of work.” made its assessment.

In the seminar where the Super League referees took part, TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi, MHK Deputy Chairman Murat Ilgaz and MHK Referee Advisor Hugh Dallas gave information to the press members about the referee performance and the work done.
