“We received Iran’s response last night. We are currently examining it. We are in consultation with the other participants of the agreement and the United States,” Massrali said. said.
Asked how other countries responded to Iran’s response or when it would respond, Massrali said that they examined the response from Tehran in detail and expected all the agreement participant countries, including the USA, to examine it.
Spokesperson Massrali did not comment on the timing.
Meanwhile, according to the news of IRNA, Iran reported its views on the final draft text of the Nuclear Agreement submitted by the European Union to Brussels yesterday.
In the rest of the news, “As it can be understood from the statements of the Iranian team, the problem is on three issues. The US has shown verbal flexibility about two of them, but these should be written in the draft text. The third issue is the guarantee of the continuation of the implementation of the Nuclear Agreement. “After these issues were discussed in detail at the special meeting of the National Security Council on Monday, August 15, Iran’s views were conveyed in writing to the European Union, the Coordinator of the Vienna Negotiations, last night.”
Nuclear negotiations with Iran
The Washington administration left in 2018 from the 2015 agreement between Iran and Russia, China, Britain, France, the United States and Germany, which regulates Iran’s nuclear program.
The final text for the return of the USA, which emerged as a result of the negotiations in Vienna, facilitated by the EU since April 2021, was sent to Iran, the USA and other participants.
Washington demands that Tehran return to its commitments in the agreement, while Iran, as the party leaving the agreement, first demands that the US return to the agreement, lift all sanctions and give assurances that it will not leave the agreement again.
Tehran also wants international “political investigations” over its nuclear program to be closed for a final deal.
Mohammad Marandi, the adviser of the Iranian negotiation team, stated in his assessment on social media today that it is not difficult to overcome the outstanding issues in the negotiations in Vienna and that they are closer than ever to the nuclear agreement.
US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price, on the other hand, stated that they will respond to the text, saying, “The only way to achieve a mutual return for compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action is for Iran to abandon unacceptable demands that go beyond the scope of the agreement. We call it ‘extraordinary’.” he said.
