Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at Marmara University Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Complex Maltepe Campus, Oktay congratulated King Sultan Abdullah Shah, who received the title of “honorary doctorate” for his contributions to bilateral relations between Turkey and Malaysia.
Stating that he hopes the title of “Honorary Doctor of Political Science and International Relations” will bring new dimensions to the deep-rooted relations between Turkey and Malaysia, Oktay said:
“Malaysia has a very special and exceptional place for us between Islamic countries and Southeast Asian societies. Our historical friendship relations with Malaysia are getting stronger day by day. Raising our cooperation to the level of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is also a first for our ties with Southeast Asian countries. Official contacts have risen to the highest level after nearly 30 years, thanks to the visit of your Excellency. Maybe it has attracted the attention of all of you in the last months. Mutual high-level visits between Malaysia and Turkey and the meetings held within the framework of these high-level visits, the agreements signed and the expansion of the scope of cooperation and It deepens it.”

President of YÖK Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar thanked King Sultan Abdullah Shah for his contributions to Turkey-Malaysia relations.
