Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Elon Musk takeover bombshell, Frenkie de Jong deal expected, Cristiano Ronaldo latest

Good morning Man United fans

Man United’s pursuit of Adrien Rabiot is officially OFF, reports claim.

The Red Devils agreed a price for the midfielder with Juventus.

But they couldn’t do the same with Rabiot due to his excessive wage demands.

And now the BBC have reported that the Red Devils have pulled the plug on negotiations with Rabiot.

United have now set their sights on Real Madrid star Casemiro to plug the hole in their midfield.

Club chiefs have reportedly jetted to Spain to try and convince Real Madrid to sell Casemiro.

However, Madrid have no intention of letting the Brazilian leave, it’s been claimed.

But the Red Devils hope they can cajole the La Liga champions into doing business by having face-to-face talks, according to the Evening Standard.

The Old Trafford outfit are also making a solid push to sign Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid.

United boss Erik ten Hag is keen on signing five new players before the transfer window closes, and Cunha and Casemiro could be two of them.

He’s also set sights on Chelsea acee Hakim Ziyech, and Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morato, according to reports.

But if they do join, it’s unlikely they’ll play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, who United have granted permission to leave the club.

Finally, United target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is remaining tight-lipped about his future.

United and Chelsea are both chasing the former Arsenal man.

But he avoided questions regarding where he’ll be playing next season when signing autographs and posing with fans upon arriving back in Barcelona on Wednesday.
