According to the first determinations, 16 people lost their lives and 21 people were injured in the traffic accident that occurred in Gaziantep.
According to the information received, the teams who intervened in a vehicle that crashed in the Nizip section of the Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep (TAG) Highway and the live broadcast vehicle of İhlas News Agency (UAV) were hit by a passenger bus, which fell and slipped about 200 meters behind the accident site.
A large number of police and medical teams were directed to the accident site.
According to the first determinations, 16 people, including 3 firefighters, 2 health personnel and UAV employee Muhammed Abdulkadir Esen and Umut Yakup Tanrıöver, lost their lives in the accident and 21 people were injured.
Governor Gul conducted an investigation at the accident site.
Gaziantep Governor Davut Gul came to the accident site and inspected it.
Gül told reporters that a passenger car crashed at around 10:45 am, the bus overturned 200 meters behind the accident in which the teams intervened, and this vehicle slipped and hit the rescue teams.
Governor Gül said, “According to the initial determinations, we have 15 citizens who passed away, among them 3 firefighters, 2 health personnel, 2 journalists. As of now, the injured have been transferred to hospitals. May God not show such accidents again.” said.
Due to the accident, the section of TAG Highway towards Nizip was closed to traffic.
