Vienna, the capital of Austria, is once again the most livable place in the world

The organization called the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) released its Global Liveability Index ranking of the 10 best and 10 worst places to live in the world in 2022.

The index evaluated 172 cities in five categories: culture, health, education, infrastructure and entertainment.

Cities in Scandinavia have long occupied a prominent place in the ‘Most Livable Cities’ list, thanks to the stability and good infrastructure in the region. According to the index, residents of these cities enjoy a fairly good quality of life, with good healthcare and numerous cultural and recreational opportunities.

Cities in Austria and Switzerland also rank high on quality of life lists each year, thanks to their well-developed social market economies. Vienna, the capital of Austria, is at the top of the list of top 10 places.

However, the most uninhabitable place is Syria’s capital, Damascus.

Although 18 different countries are represented in these two lists, the biggest world powers such as the USA, China and Russia are absent in both.

However, no city in Turkey is included in the top 10 or the last 10 lists.

Vienna, the capital of Austria, ranked first as the best place to live in the world. In 2018 and 2019, this position was again for Vienna. But in 2021 it had dropped to 12th place. This is thought to be due to the measures taken due to the Covid epidemic.
